Christmas came early for a select group of guests who were invited by OhhSocial to have a sneak preview of the Christmas menu offerings at the Knife and Fork Grill in Belfast’s Malone Lodge.

The restaurant team, led by new head chef, Nick Clough, who was previously with Le Meridien Hotel in London, has developed a new festive menu for the Christmas period and we were given a chance to sample some of the dishes.

When we arrived at the restaurant, we were treated to a glass of Prosecco while we tried to process the fact that we were surrounded by Christmas decorations, festive music and a fully decorated tree- in August! However, once we got our Santa hats on, we were fully immersed in the Christmas experience and ready to have some fun.

We were offered mini plates of some of the items from the menu. The starters included Heritage beetroot salad with beetroot mayo, goats cheese bon bons, juniper crumble and baby Caesar salad with sourdough croutes. The mains included sticky beef with honey parsnip puree, red wine jus and parsnip crisps, venison, rabbit and pheasant pie. pan fried Sea bass with lyonaisse potatoes, kale, rocket and almond pesto and wild mushroom and truffle risotto. The puddings on offer were hazelnut and chocolate delice. banoffee and chocolate shot, cranberry and blackberry trifle and warm white chocolate, almond and blueberry tart.

Going by our festive fun experience, the Knife & Fork Grill would be a great choice for a Christmas party. For more information or to book- click here.

Christmas party nights will take place throughout December and the restaurant will also be accommodating diners on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.  As an added bonus, anyone using the OhhSocial app will get a free glass of Prosecco with their meal.
