I happened upon these zero noodles by chance when I was looking for something else on the internet.  I was intrigued enough to order them and if truth be told, I am slightly fascinated by then!  The Japanese have been using them for centuries and promote them as a healthy high fibre alternative to heavy calorie filled pastas

While they are technically noodles and therefore carb like, they are actually made of 96% water and only have 10 calories per 200g pack.  This is perfect for me as I am always planning to reduce my carb intake but find it practically impossible to do so!

The noodles are made from Konjac Glucomannan which is a natural soluble fibre produced by the Konjac Plant which is then mixed with water to produce the noodles.  They look a bit slimey when they come out of the pack and need to be rinsed a few times before being immersed in boiling water for a few minutes.

I have been using them to replace pasta or rice in a few different dishes and they do soak up the flavour of the sauce they are in.  I have tried them in a sweet and sour chicken sauce and in a bolognese.  I have delighted to report that they are really filling
