I visited my new friend Mandy’s allotment (more about that to come soon) and she gave me some radishes.  That gave me quite a challenge as to what to do with them.

I have always been a bit indifferent about radishes but I have to say that seeing these growing in their little patch and being freshly pulled from the ground definitely added to their appeal.  More importantly, the taste was superb and had no comparison to flavourless shop bought ones.

This particular radish pictured ended up in a rather lovely salad with leaves, tomatoes and spring onions.  A pretty good combination

Home grown vegetables are definitely the way to go.  I just hope that my tomatoes and peppers are just as successful

Thanks to Mandy for the introduction to the delights of allotment growing!
